Started the day with a cold shower. Our accomondation costs 5 bucks a night in Kuta, Lombok, so you cannot expect hot showers then (the fact is that most showers we had in Southeast Asia have been with cold showers so we are quite used to that now - life as a backpacker, haha).
Banana pancakes for breakfast (as usual), and then to the waterfalls. We saw Benang Kelambu which was really beautiful. I read somewhere that the name of the waterfall means something like needle and thread? And it really looks like the water twists like a needle in fabric. A short walk later we were at Benang Stokel waterfall (there are a total of 5 waterfalls in the same area). The Stokel waterfall was not as impressive but one must keep in mind that it is dry season here and that Stokel has lost one of the falls after the earthquake in August last year.
It took us two hours with the scooter to get there (with getting a little bit lost so we had to stop to ask for directions) so there was a full day for the waterfalls. Stayed for some food on the way home. It was ok food but not so photo friendly unfortunately. Bought some cookies and sipped coffee on the balcony (realizing we sound like a married old couple - haha). When we got home we got the happy news that Tim had become an uncle to a little girl!
When we sat there on the balcony, a kitten came and jumped into my lap (the kitten was owed by the hotel-owners). We gave her some food and then it lay with me and slept for several hours. I couldn't even go to the toilet before she was screaming after me. Not only that - it fell asleep in our room on my backpack. We didn't want to move it while it was asleep, but it didn't take long before she jumped into bed and fell asleep on Tim's neck. SHE SLEPT IN OUR BED ALL NIGHT 😢How could we leave this cat? Googled "importing cat from Indonesia" but it seemed hopeless. So sorry that I couldn't bring it home 😭. I miss her...
Wow!! Amazing
