Vad är en trip till Buenos Aires utan färgglada La Boca?

Brunch/fika innan San Telmo.

Hi, my dear blog. I know it was a sudden and long break from you but it is not you, it is me. Haha. Honestly, it is a combination of us having been on two four-day tours without access to internet plus our external hard drive broke after Uyuni (are they not capable of negative temperatures?) So I haven't been able to access my photos. As soon as I connected the hard drive to my computer, the computer has been very slow and now it's also making some strange scratch-like noise? If anyone knows what this is - please help me! When technology works, life is great but when it doesn't ... Well, enought said about that, I have lots of fun posts coming up so you don't have to worry about having to wait again :)
What is a trip to Buenos Aires without a visit to colorful La Boca?
We read a lot about La Boca and all the pickpockets and stuff - so we were actually a little bit worried. I had read online that as long as you stick to the tourist streets you will be fine. We were greeted by so many beautiful colored walls, restaurants with tango performances and of course a lot of shopping for tourists. We went pretty quickly through the street Caminito and Tim wanted to see the stadium for Boca Juniors so we went there. I, who had never heard of Boca Juniors before (I'm totally uninterested in soccer) still thought it was cool to hear that the inspiration for their blue and yellow color comes from a Swedish boat that someone saw in the port of Buenos Aires. Imagine that a small country as Sweden has affected a large country as Argentina. After La Boca we went to Plaza Italia, ate empanadas and took a walk along the parks. What we didn't understand was that the parks were closing in the afternoon so we didn't see much more than this statue of an armadillo. We went back home again, relaxed a little and ordered empanadas to the room as dinner. I like!
The next day it rained and thundered in the morning. We first went back to the parks again but they were closed this time too. So weird because we double-checked the opening hours 😂. Instead, we ate a brunch / coffee and went on to San Telmo's old town window shopping. There were lots of picturesque shops and I wanted to buy lots of furnishings but I had to stop myself. We finished the evening by a dinner buffet at Siga la Vaca and a long walk home. A bottle of wine, a pitcher of beer, buffet consisting of meat, lots of veggies, potatoes and other additionals cost less than SEK 200 (20 USD) per person. Definitely worth the money but there were restaurants with similar set ups for about the same price in Puerto Madero which might have better quality so we recommend you try one of them instead.
