We stayed at a super-cozy resort in Dauin that was in the middle of nowhere and was primarily for divers - Fun and Sun Dive Resort. Was very lovely and the staff were very sweet. They really did everything to make us feel at home, and we really did! We met a Canadian girl and a Swedish guy that were there at the same time as we were and the staff always asked us what we wanted to do and if they could help us with anything.
The plan with Dauin was that Tim would go out to Apo Island and dive and I might follow and do some snorkeling but because I didn't feel 100% and it cost as much as diving for me to follow to Apo Island I decided to stay at the resort. Sarah (the Canadian girl who also lived at the resort) asked if I wanted to go to a local market, Malatapay Market, and of course I wanted to. Bought two mangos among other things. Then I just layed by the pool the rest of the day and read my book. Another day I did some manicure and pedicure. The diving was pretty good too, a lot of turtles and some colorful snails that Tim never had seen before.
They had lots of puppies at the resort we stayed at and they were just sooo cute. Four of them were a little bit older than these you can see in the picture and they had been found abandoned. In the Philippines, it is apparently a sin to sterilize female dogs and therefore no one wants them. So horrible. So nice of those in the hotel to take care of the puppies and sterilize the female dogs. One of the dogs was getting a surgery live in the middle of the garden which we saw when we got home from the market. It was ... different.
The last night at the resort, Sun and Joe arranged with Kinilaw which we had been advised by some who worked on the boat. SO GOOD! It is raw fish with vinegar, spices and coconut milk. Don't miss out on this if you go to the Philippines! They also made a grilled tuna. Mango for dessert😋
