.. And now we have finally arrived to yet another new continent and yet another new country. We have also come to the final stage of the trip, it is just over one month left. I would say that time has both gone fast and slowly so far. You get a very strange view of time when traveling like this. One day can feel like a week and a week can feel like one day. This time of the trip we started to feel in the body that we have been travelling for a long time now.
We went by Air New Zealand between Auckland and Buenos Aires and it was SO good. I was a little worried before the flight but we had no jet lag or anything despite 15 hours time difference and 12 hours flight. We went to the Parada Hostel which was really good. It was good value for money and it was walking distance to almost everything.
The first night, we had a pizza slice and went to bed quite early. The next day we took a full day walking in town. We saw among other things:
Palace of Justice / Justicia de la Nación, the Obelisco that you can see from a pretty long distance. It is quite close to where we lived so you could have it as a small benchmark. Good for me who has bad local memory.
We had lunch in a park. We found a place with a vegetarian buffet where you paid by weight. Soo good with some fresh food. Have been a lot of bread and crap food during this trip. Yes, it will be in Buenos Aires too, you will soon see, hehe.
We continued our little sightseeing with amoungst other things the pink house. Beautiful! In several places we also found couches on the streets. They are made of cement and are very hard to sit on but they are very well made because they look so soft and nice. Didn't understand exactly why they stood there more than that it had something to do with the women's struggle. He sits pretty well there, Timsan, I think :)
We finished one of the evenings with pizza and wine at a pizzeria we were advised by two different people - Pizzeria Güerrin. See how much mozzarella it is on this pizza? We shared one but could barely eat half of it. It's a mozzarella pizza with onions. Yum! They have a really good pizza culture in Buenos Aires and a lot of Italian influences overall on the food (though the pizza here is thick, the Italians are usually thin?). Most of the local wines we have tried are also great and very, very cheap. The Argentine currency are decreasing in value very much and has done so for a long time which made it very cheap for us to visit.
