Hi from Bali! We finally had to say goodbye to the Philippines (oh - we will miss it!) but we are really excited about what Indonesia has to offer 😍
The last couple of days in the Philippines we spent at Coron, an island close to the island of Palawan in the western Philippines.
Tim met a couple from Germany and two girls from Scotland at the diving in Sablayan and he asked them if they wanted to rent a boat with us in Coron, because that whole gang would also go to Coron - the same day we did! We paid 3250 pesos for 6 people. Additional fees for entry (which is quite expensive) and food.
First stop - Lake Kayangan. A mixed sweet-salt water pool. We had to hike 367 steps from the pier where the boat stopped over the mountain to see this beauty.
The next stop was Twin Lagoons. You swam from one lagoon to the other, and at high tide you had to swim under the mountain to get to the other lagoon. Pretty cool! The water was absolutely clear and the high rocks looked completely unreal.
We went on to the next place and it was time for lunch. In the morning we went to the local market and bought a large (giant) tuna, vegetables, rice and some spices, and then the captain and his crew cooked the food for us. It was INCREDIBLY good. We brought water melon for dessert 😋
The last stop was an island I don't remember the name of? It was fine - nothing special. We sat on the beach talking for hours and before we left we took a picture of us in the water while the sun was going down. So cozy!
Here we are: Kevin and Anya from Germany, Laura and Lauren from Scotland and Tim and I from Sweden. A little mixed European bunch - how lovely!
We met up a few hours later for dinner and some beer. A great ending to a fantastic day! We took a flight from Coron to Manila and spent one last day there before we were heading to Denpasar, Bali.
Now I'm going to go to bed. It's late here and we need to get up early for new adventures on the island of Nusa Penida in Indonesia (which has the craziest nature I think I have ever seen). We'll be back soon - and you will get a report from Bali!
